This truly immersive program features instruction for intermediate to high advanced language levels and housing with a Chinese roommate. This program implements a full-time language pledge. Harbin is an immersive location with a rich history. Specialized language learning through a self-designed one-on-one independent study is also unique to CET-Harbin.
This program would be a great fit for someone who is looking for an environment with less foreign students. Less western presence and entertainment means CET-Harbin students tend to lead a more immersive Chinese experience, supported by local roommates. Students who are considering this program are encouraged to do some research on the history and culture of Harbin.
Program Application Notes:
- CET accepts the Light Fellowship Language Evaluation as a substitute for one letter of recommendation from a language instructor. You do not need to send a recommendation request. The Light Fellowship office will send the language evaluation to the program as long as you indicated your intention to apply on your Light Fellowship application.

CET Staff will be holding an on-campus information session for Chinese programs on Tuesday, October 22nd at 2:30pm - 3:30pm at 55 Whitney Ave. 3rd Fl. Rm. 305.
