Career Strategy Fellowships Study Abroad Summer Session

Light Fellow Directory

You are here

Light Fellows are as diverse as the student population at Yale University. Each Fellow brings a unique background and perspective and sees intensive language study as an important part of his or her longer-term personal or professional goals. Fellows often recognize, as Dr. Richard Light did, that there is no substitute for "on-the-ground" experience as a path to mutual understanding. For Light Fellows, language study in-country is a means to obtain direct knowledge of a place, people, and culture. Above all, Light Fellows speak for themselves from the time they begin planning their travel and studies, through their reflective engagement abroad, upon return to campus, and on through their post-graduate work and careers.

Since 1996, more than 2,000 students have made a Light Fellowship part of their Yale experience. Search for past and current students who studied in East Asia as Light Fellows during their time at Yale. Review their programs of study, as well as who among them were designated as Greenberg Scholars or served on the Light Fellowship Student Advisory Committee.
