Program Highlights

The Inter-University Center for Korean Language Studies at Sungkyunkwan University is suitable for Fellows who are graduate students, researchers, and professionals with a high proficiency in English, and whose Korean language proficiency is mid-advanced or above, or who have completed four years of post-secondary Korean language courses overseas. Currently, this is the only approved program to provide high-advanced research/academic purpose courses.

With extremely small class sizes and tailored coursework, this program will benefit Fellows who need to improve their academic Korean language abilities, focus on reading comprehension of original sources and research works related to each learner’s area of study, enhance communication ability for academic exchange with Korean scholars, and advance translating and writing skills in academic Korean.

Additional Information

Currently a pilot program for the Light Fellowship, SKKU: IUC is approved for high-level, advanced students for research purposes. Only graduating seniors and graduate students are eligible to apply.
